Haytor on Dartmoor is probably the most visited tor on Dartmoor, its huge granite mass is and has been depicted on numerous postcards, sketches, paintings and photographs of Dartmoor. Visit the tor on any day and you will find numerous coaches who include it on every tour of the moor.The name is probably a corruption of "High Tor" , although it is not one of the higher Dartmoor tors (454m/1490ft), it stands out so much over the surrounding area
